Pallet Deliveries

There are a few things you should do in preparation for us coming to collect your pallets. Most importantly, you need to make sure you use the correct pallet size and that your pallets are big enough to fit all your items and sturdy enough to support them.

It’s best to arrange your goods by size, putting large or bulky items at the bottom with smaller, more lightweight items stacked on top, making sure that they’re secure.

You should also try to stack your items in columns, as this is the best way to ensure weight is distributed across your pallets efficiently – and don’t let any items hang over the edge of your pallet. This way, you can be sure that all of your goods will arrive at their destination in one piece.

Strapping items to your pallet and wrapping everything with bubble or shrink wrap will not only help keep everything together but also prevent damage during shipment.

Please note we’re unable to accept dangerous goods for pallet delivery. Get in touch with our team if you’re unsure whether your shipment falls into this category.

Shipping goods via pallet delivery is a fairly straightforward process.

Simply load and secure goods onto pallets, get in touch with a pallet delivery company – like us – and arrange for your goods to be collected. Your pallets will then be taken to the nearest distribution hub.

From here, the team will plan and coordinate routes for drivers, efficiently loading pallets onto trucks to ensure items reach their destination as quickly as possible. As soon as your items arrive at the destination hub, they’ll be unloaded, scanned, quality checked and sent to the closest depot to the delivery point.

Once your goods arrive at their respective depots, delivery will be arranged, and you’ll be given an ETA.

Not all couriers are set up for palletised freight the way a dedicated pallet network is.

Standard parcel couriers are generally built for individual boxed items, whereas pallet delivery relies on a network of hubs, forklifts, and pallet-specific vehicles to move heavier, bulkier consignments safely and cost-effectively.

That’s why choosing a provider that’s part of an established network – like FDC Holdings through TPN – is the better option for anything over 100kg or too large for standard parcel shipping.

We offer a range of flexible pallet delivery options, including next-day delivery and timed delivery slots. For urgent pallet collections, call our team on 01772 695 695, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your requirements as quickly as possible.

Through our membership of The Pallet Network (TPN), we can deliver pallets to any postcode in the UK – from Land’s End to John O’Groats. We also offer international pallet delivery to European and Irish destinations via the TPN network.

The cost of pallet delivery depends on a number of factors, including the size and weight of your pallet, your chosen delivery service (next-day, timed or economy), and your delivery destination. For an accurate, no-obligation quote, please contact our team or call 01772 695 695.

Since January 2021, the UK is no longer part of the European Union, which means some additional paperwork is required for pallets moving between the UK and EU. You’ll need to accurately declare information on all palletised goods crossing between Britain and the EU, in line with current customs regulations.

The vast majority of shipments will be subject to customs approval, which may add a little time to delivery, but will proceed as normal provided the necessary paperwork is complete. You’ll need:

• A registered EORI number
• Commodity codes
• Export licences (for goods that require them)

When choosing a pallet for your goods, there are a few things to consider:

Size – If your pallet is too big or too small to accommodate all of your items, they may get damaged during transport. Choosing an appropriately sized pallet is essential.

Type – You’ll be able to choose from three pallet types when you work with us: quarter pallets, half pallets and full pallets.

Load capacity – Our quarter pallets can hold a maximum of 250kg, half pallets up to 500kg, and full pallets up to 1,500kg.

Material – Wooden pallets are generally used for transport, as they tend to be the strongest and most protective. They can handle the heaviest consignments and are relatively affordable to source.

Whenever you need a speedy, precise way to ship large consignments of goods, pallet delivery will get the job done.

No matter what you’re sending, pallets make it much easier to move goods from A to B – and with FDC Holdings, you can also take advantage of our warehouse services, with confidence that your items are being taken care of by our experts.
